When our energy goes up here [points to her forehead], then we're just like the previous speaker said, we're trapped by our conceptions, we're trapped by our ideas. But when our energy goes here [points to her center, below the navel], then thinking is no problem, then we can use our thinking. So I had one of the great Zen masters of the 20th century as my teacher. And I would never ask him a question, because I would think: Oh, this is such a stupid question that I have, I'm sure this is how he'll answer it. And I'd make up an answer. And then he died. So where did that get me?
If you have a question, ask it and don't worry about what kind of mind you're using.. If you have a question, just ask it and see how it unfolds. And don't worry about questions resolving. If a question resolves, then it's been killed, and it's not alive anymore. So keep your questions alive in the moment… Always keep: What is this? What is this that is happening?... Don't shut it down.
Don't ever shut anything down.
